Not sure if you caught this NPR interview with GM vice-chairman Bob Lutz. I was shocked when I heard his answer to the interviewer’s question about what it’s like to have to make adjustments in the way they do business. After Lutz gives the following answer, the interviewer clarifies that his question was about the company, not Lutz’s own personal discomforts. Geeish… You don’t suppose he means Best Western when he refers to decent hotels do you?
“I’ve never quite been in this situation before of getting a massive pay cut, no bonus, no longer allowed to stay in decent hotels, no corporate airplane. I have to stand in line at the Northwest counter,” Lutz says. “I’ve never quite experienced this before. I’ll let you know a year from now what it’s like.”
